Even more 2012 Panini Triple Play

The final 8 packs from this box of 24 packs.
Still more cards needed to complete the whole set. Only 11 cards from the 90 card base set, but I set the goal of all inserts too, which leaves the total at 124 cards- the puzzle cards are proving to be the most difficult. There are 144 cards (9 cards for the 16 players) and I still have 85 to collect.

Some more from the wants list but with only eight packs to go it will be cutting it awfully fine to complete the set.

2012 Panini Triple Play

With the increase in postage prices from America, and my mishap with a previous purchase from Dave and Allen's Cards, I decided to go down another route altogether to complete this Triple Play set. There was the possibility of purchasing the cards from Germany, but it didn't work out any less expensive than purchasing through the USA, so I purchased a box of the Panini Triple Play from O Canada.
Big B from Waxaholic may be pleased to know that the purchase from a fellow country man went as smooth as silk- no hidden charges and they arrived super quickly.

1970 Kellogg's Cereal Baseball Cards

The 1970 Kellogg's set was notable for two reasons, firstly the 3-D look and secondly, these were the first cards released by a breakfast cereal company. The cards were inserted in specially marked packs of Kellogg's Corn Flakes.  Unfortunately due to the fact that these cards are made of plastic, they are subject to warping and cracking- not desirable features.
There are 75 cards in the set included a huge number of future Hall-of-Fame players, most notably: Tom Seaver, Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Reggie Jackson and Johnny Bench
Two noticeable omissions from the set were Carl Yastrzemski and Hank Aaron.

1964 Topps baseball wants list

If there was a vintage set that I would like to collect, besides the 1950's Bowman (naturally), it would be 1964 Topps; the year of my birth. With any sort of luck I will collect the set before I hit 100 years old in 2064.
There are 587 cards in the complete set, a number of which extend into the $100+ range.
These key cards are:
#50 Mickey Mantle
#125 Pete Rose RC
#146 Tommy John RC
#150 Willie Mays
#167 Lou Pinella RC
#200 Sandy Koufax
#331 AL Bombers
#440 Roberto Clemente.
.
There were also several other baseball themed releases by Topps. These included Topps Coins, Topps Giants, Standups, Bazooka, and Photo Tattoos.
Not to get ahead of myself, the journey towards collecting the entire 587 base set, starts here. If some of the other releases from the same year are trapped along the way, all well and good.

2011 Topps baseball stickers

One of the New Year type decisions I made about collecting baseball cards was to actively, seriously, somewhat desperately, try to complete the sets on the side bar which have been sitting there uncompleted for far too long.
Two sets which have been harder to complete than I thought they would be are the: 2011 Topps baseball stickers and 2012 Topps baseball stickers.
With that in mind I purchased 7 packs of stickers from a seller in Germany. A fellow UK Blogger Martyn, who writes Abitrary Crap, recommended this seller in Germany when I had my unfortunate incident with Panini Triple Play.
I only have 42 stickers from a possible 309 to go, but as we now move squarely into 2013 and possibly another album- this needs to be struck from the incomplete list. If you are a student of mathematics and/or sticker collecting you will understand that the odds are not in my favour.
I have seven packs, each containing 8 stickers.
